In 1996, Michael self-published the first edition of his book. Sold in stores nationwide, the book was an immediate success and the first printing quickly sold out. |

| In 1997, Michael updated and expanded his book and the newly-revised edition was published by Avon Books (an imprint of HarperCollins), the world's largest publisher of mass-market paperbacks. |

In 2002, a handy pocket digest edition of BEAT THE CAR SALESMAN arrived in stores. Published by American Media Inc, this little book was available at all Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Target stores -- and quickly disappeared from store shelves.
